Latarnie McDonald brings over 12 years experience with depth involvement in a range of organic and sustainability sectors, throughout Australian and overseas.

Backed by the University of Sydney degree in science, majoring in food production, horticulture, animal health and business management, Latarnie enjoyed working with the food supply chain throughout 6 regions of the eastern states.  This encompassed working with over 1500 producers, marketing and supply chain companies, improving: natural resources, ecology, water use efficiency, supply chain logistics, and profit margins.

Latarnie became the first organic agronomist in NSW and became a specialist, working with the national RIRDC program and science team to help producers double crop yields, and connect face to face with more companies which process and market organic food.

In 2006 Latarnie worked with Australia's longest running organic certification company to improve the communication of technical standards into practical methodologies and problem solving for businesses producing, importing and exporting organic products.  This has further widened networks around Australia, from smaller local production groups to national companies for organic wine, cosmetics, fresh food wholesalers and exporters.

2007 saw the opportunity of working to inform UK giant, Marks and Spencer, of Australian certified organic wool potentials for woolen garments.  This involved a complex global exercise in logistics as wool is perhaps the longest supply chain usually stretching over 3-5 continents.

Later that year, Latarnie decided to bring this wealth of experience direct to households and businesses wanting to improve their health and sustainability.

With Greenlight Organics, Latarnie enjoys consulting to tap into the core of people's needs and creative innovative practical solutions.
